Talk Cinema is the creation of film critic Harlan Jacobson, former editor of Film Comment magazine and peripatetic observer of and commentator on film festivals worldwide. Jacobson hunts and gathers the finest films from all over the world and brings them back to his Talk Cinema audiences all over the U.S. (www.talkcinema.com).
Just like the film pros seeing a film at its debut screening, you can experience the delight of discovery by not knowing what you are going to see. Immediately following the surprise screening, there will be a seminar-style moderated discussion with a critic or special guest from the film.
That's the Talk Cinema method: no titles, no buzz, no advance hype, no reviews-just you, living dangerously out there on the edge of your seat, taking the movie on its own terms and talking about it afterwards with a clear eye and a stout heart!
Talk Cinema comes to the 49th San Francisco International Film Festival
on April 22, 23 and 29 at 10:00 am at the Kabuki Theatres. Tickets for
the selection of three films are $24 for members, $30 for the general
public. A limited number of individual tickets will also be available
at regular Festival ticket prices.
