As the San Francisco International Film Festival looks ahead to its 50th anniversary in 2007, we continue to expand our programming throughout the city. This year, we will be collaborating with several arts organizations and nontraditional screening venues to present selected programs from SFIFF 49. LISTEN
SFFD Fire Station #7
19th and Folsom Street
Produced in collaboration with the San Francisco Fire Department with
the support of the Exploratorium, Dolissa Medina's Cartography of Ashes
marks the 100th anniversary of the 1906 earthquake, recounting the
destruction of several city intersections in the quake's aftermath. This
new 30-minute film will be projected outdoors onto a firefighter's training
tower. Seating is limited.

Edinburgh Castle
950 Geary Street (between Polk and Larkin)
Film Night at Edinburgh Castle is an exhilarating event, known for its
programs of experimental and unpretentious works. In 2005, the San
Francisco Bay Guardian awarded it a Goldie for best film series. With
beer and fish 'n' chips for sustenance and host Jackie Moe keeping things
lively, this promises to be another great, bleary-eyed night. Screening:

Bar of Contemporary Art (BoCA)
414 Jessie Street (between Mission and Market and Fifth and Sixth)
Spanish for "mouth" and an acronym for the Bar of Contemporary
Art, BoCA is a new breed of social space designed for culture and entertainment.

BAYCAT

BAYCAT's (Bayview Hunter's Point Center for Arts & Technology) mission
is to inspire and educate underserved youth and adults and improve the
quality of life in their communities by providing education in arts, culture
and enterprise in an inspirational learning environment. It's also a great

Intersection for the Arts

Intersection for the Arts is San Francisco's oldest alternative art space,
with a long history of presenting new work in literature, theater, music,
dance and the visual arts and providing service, technical support and
mentorship programs. It's where provocative ideas and diverse art forms,
artists and audiences intersect. Screening: Jonestown: The Life and
Death of Peoples Temple.

Swedish American Hall

Porchlight is a nonfiction storytelling series created by San Francisco
literary mavens Arline Klatte and Beth Lisick. Each month focuses on a
new theme and includes poignant, bizarre and uproarious first-person stories.
The SFIFF Porchlight program will feature guests of the Festival who will
relate their experiences in the film industry.

El Rio
